Dan Gattis
State Representative Dan Gattis of Georgetown, Texas was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2002, to serve the people of District 20. His district includes all of Milam County and most of Williamson County.
Representative Gattis is proud of our state and is optimistic about Texas' future. As a sixth generation Texan and product of a ranching family, he has a deep appreciation for stewardship of the land as well as private property rights. From his father, a former high school agricultural teacher, and his mother, a retired public school teacher, he learned the value of hard work, individual responsibility, and the passion for public service.
He graduated from Texas A&M University, where he served as class president and was a member of the famed Corps of Cadets. He received his law degree from the South Texas College of Law. His prior public service includes working as a prosecutor in the county attorney's office and the district attorney's office in Williamson County. In addition to his legislative responsibilities, Representative Gattis maintains a private law practice in Georgetown and helps run the family ranch raising registered Beefmaster cattle.
