Larry Taylor

State Representative Larry Taylor was elected as the Representative for Galveston County, District 24, in 2002 and is currently serving his third term in office. Representative Taylor is a lifelong Texan with deep roots in Galveston County; his mother's family first arrived there in 1848.  After attending Friendswood schools from first through twelfth grades, he graduated with a BBA from Baylor University in 1982. 

Representative Taylor's acknowledgements include the Defender of the American Dream award given by Americans for Prosperity in April 2006, the Heritage Alliance's 2007 Conservative Leader Award, and the 2007 Champion for Free Enterprise honor from the Texas Association of Business. 

Representative Taylor was born and raised in Friendswood, Texas where he still resides with his wife, Kerri, and their three children: Trudy, Carly, and Jake.

House Bill 4410 creates a truly mandate-free health insurance plan that will make health insurance a more affordable option for more individuals, families, and businesses.

Larry Taylor

Rep. Larry Taylor sponsored and passed SB 541. The bill created mandate free health insurance in Texas which allowed individuals to purchase health insurance specific to their needs.  The bill eliminated unnecessary mandates that increase the cost of health insurance and thereby created more affordable health insurance, more choice, and empowered consumers.
