The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) is established by state statute and the Legislature is specifically directed by statute to conduct oversight of the organization. We are concerned with allegations that suggest attorneys may have received tens of millions in fees for cases that did not even proceed to trial. If this is true, those fees may have an impact on homeowner insurance rates.
